Trauma Warriors
Stop running
Today - I’d like to propose a new way of living
I don’t know about you but I personally feel like I’ve been running away from my problems my whole life
I’ve designed an entire lifestyle around running
And in my head I thought I was building a brand and a reality centered around courage and strength
But what I failed to see was that true courage entails staring in the face of the things that scare you the most
And I’ve been running
So today I’d like to propose a new way of living
Trauma - a deeply distressing or disturbing experience
You know, I as a spiritual and mental health advocate have created a practice out of present moment awareness
My healing practice has mainly been engaging in activities to get out of my head
But what I’ve realized is that you can’t get out of your head
And I think after 5 years of up and down. I’m tired of running
The present moment is the best moment. And I’m not saying not to honor the present
But you can’t fully honor the present if you’re scared of what’s next.
I believe that so many of us - even at our greatest moments carry an underlying sense of dread. And underlying dreadful anticipatory waiting.
This is trauma
The benefit of intentionally going to the places that scare you is you remove the power of something big and scary coming to get you - the dreadful anticipatory waiting
Out of emptiness arises compassion - I find the more stuff that comes up, without feeling the need to run. Allows you to face, show love, and release all of the trauma.
So trauma isn’t something to be afraid of. It’s something to celebrate.
Love Compassion and Grace are your tools
The lower self inside you, is a child like state that is so nervous about everything.
And the higher self is almost a fatherly / motherly role
Creating a sense that everything is okay
Consoling you to release and move on
If you’re scared the way isn’t away.
It’s through
Here’s a film that demonstrates grace
Fierce grace
Much love everyone
